Bag for Grandma

One day I was at Gramommy's Condo, she mentioned she wanted to make a scripture cover using this needle point (nanna's, gramma's mom). So I stole it without her looking and Anjuli gave me the design to make this purse. I changed the design a little. I think it turned out really good. Now gramommy has sunday bag for her scriptures.

Dad's 300 mile High Adventure

This years Venturer High Adventure was a 300 mile bike tour of southwest Washington. As this picture of the "sag van" shows we were not traveling light. In fact, the green thing on top of the trailer is the Land Sailor the boys built all year. To say the least we took all we needed and in fact ate quite well, thank you Shawn Knudsen.

This is Howard standing on the bridge spanning the Deschutes River on the west side of the Capital Forest about 35 miles into our trip.

Our first day took us through Elma, Washington and right past Smitty Burgers on the Monte -Elma Road. This is the guys enjoying a great old fashioned shake. One of the marvelous things of cycling 60 miles in a day is that you can eat all you want....

The second day we were scheduled to ride 80 miles. This shot was taken on north shore of the Willapa Bay about 45 miles from Montesano (just south of Grayland). This is a beautiful and seemingly remote area. The ride around the bay was wonderful... with lots of wildlife, eagles, deer, osprey etc.

The third day we rode out of Long Beach along the Columbia River. That is the Astoria Bridge in the back ground with the Oregon Coast behind us.
The trip got more interesting as we enjoyed some long hills that tested everyone.
